Release Dates

Due to the designation as a Wild and Scenic River, the Upper Yough is strictly regulated by the Maryland DNR. All Upper Yough outfitters are limited on the number of guests and rafts per day. Although the Upper Yough will occasionally run on natural flow, whitewater trips are scheduled to correspond to a dam release.

Scheduled releases begin in mid-April and continue through mid-October on Mondays, Fridays, and certain Saturdays. Releases are most Fridays and Mondays, and certain Saturdays in the spring and fall, and EVERY Friday, Saturday, and Monday from mid-June through August.
